The Ibero-American Association for Liberty (AIL) holds in Spain a meeting with Venezuelan and Cuban dissenters

(EL UNIVERSAL) Venezuela’s President Hugo Chávez took office "by vote and he will leave office by the votes" of citizens thanks to a "political change" that will be implemented in Venezuela next year with the victory of the opposition umbrella group Unified Democratic Panel (MUD), said Ramón Guillermo Aveledo, the Executive Secretary of the political alliance.

AIL held in Madrid a round table entitled "Cuba and Venezuela: a possible future," with the participation of Ramón Guillermo Aveledo, the MUD’s Executive Secretary, and Cuban journalist and writer Carlos Alberto Montaner.

Both Montaner and Aveledo referred to the USD 2.1 million fine that the Venezuelan National Telecommunications Commission (Conatel) imposed on private TV news channel Globovisión.

"After several attempts to close the network, they are now trying to do it though economic pressure," Aveledo stated.
